AWARDS

The Committee hosts two separate awards programs – The Labor Management Hall of Fame and The Weier Award.

The Labor Management Hall of Fame

The Labor Management Hall of Fame, sponsored by the Labor Management Committee of the Leadership Council Southwestern Illinois, recognizes and honors individuals who have contributed to the improvement of union and management relationships leading to employment stability or enhancement, or labor-management cooperation in Southwestern Illinois.

Individuals must be nominated by a member of the Labor Management Committee and must have made significant contributions to the purposes of the Labor and Management Hall of Fame as defined above.  Significant contributions are normally defined as those made over several years; it is rare that an individual will be honored for an isolated event.

The Weier Award

The Weier Award exists to promote labor and management cooperation and to recognize the different ways which organizations and unions in our region are striving to further improve their working relationships.  Such improvement could come through the use of cooperative practices, the introduction of innovative procedures that benefit the union and the organization, implementation of mechanisms that improve communication and the collaboration to provide stable, safe and productive employment benefiting workers, organizations or their communities.
