ABOUT THE COMMITTEE

The Labor Management Committee membership includes individuals from the manufacturing, construction, service, government and education sectors. At this time there are 11 management members, 8 labor members and 12 neutrals. The organization has an executive director and two co-chairs, one of which represents labor and the other management. Committee meetings are held the fourth Thursday of each month and all decisions are made by consensus.

The Committee’s members work together to:

  • Increase the use of worksite labor-management committees in the region
  • Promote awareness of labor-management cooperation activities in the State of Illinois and the St. Louis Metropolitan area
  • Strengthen the link between labor, industry, education and the community
  • Assist the region in preparing the workforce to meet future challenges by supporting local education-to-careers initiatives
  • Provide information about labor-management issues
  • Assist in creating a workforce environment that aids in attracting new and growing existing businesses, and
  • Provide assistance and support to the Illinois Labor Management Cooperation Committee.
