Becoming more energy efficient and environmentally prudent under difficult economic conditions is challenging southwestern Illinois and our nation. To meet the challenge, our community must prepare its workforce with the education and skills to do the jobs of a changing economy. High levels of labor management cooperation, communication and strategies will be required to coordinate efforts with private industry, educational institutions and government agencies.
This conference will provide an overview of these issues and spotlight some of the leading local strategies and efforts underway to address the dilemmas facing our community.
